- What are the predictions for the first day?
This and much more in our all-British in-depth study!
LAST SEASON ENDED ...
After Liverpool in the 2019/2020 season, Guardiola's Manchester City returned to impose its hegemony on the English championship by winning the third title in four years.
The citizens have in fact dominated from the first to the last day, except for a small opening parenthesis. The numbers speak for themselves with 86 points won (12 more than United's city rivals second), the result of 27 wins, 5 draws and 6 defeats, recording the best attack with 83 goals scored and the best defense with 32 goals conceded. In addition to the two Manchester teams, Liverpool and Chelsea also finished in the Champions League, with Leicester and West Ham in the Europa League and Tottenham in the Conference League.
Relegation to the Championship instead for Sheffield United, West Bromwich and Fulham. The top scorer was instead won by Harry Kane with 23 goals that preceded Salah and Bruno Fernandes.
SUMMER TRANSFER MARKET
Only 4 teams have chosen a new coach for the season that is about to begin ...
... the Crystal Palace who chose Vieira, the Wolves who continue with the Portuguese dynasty by signing Bruno Lage, Everton who moved from Ancelotti to Rafa Benitez and Tottenham who chose Espirito Santo.
Let's now move on to the signing campaign of the big players, taking stock of the situation on the hits scored by the most famous teams.
Reinforcements in defense and midfield for Arsenal who spent a total of 75 million euros for the White-Lokonga duo from Brighton and Anderlecht;
Market made up for the most part of returns from the end of loans for the European champions Chelsea, who however - news of the last few days - will soon formalize the purchase of Lukaku from Inter;
Zambian striker Daka is the flagship of Leicester’s transactions, which has taken the African from Salzburg; Liverpool also fished in Germany and decided to shore up the defense with Konatè of Leipzig;
Manchester City still sly but we know that Guardiola's main objective is to snatch national team captain Harry Kane from Tottenham;
Man. United cousins have instead opted for another phenomenon in attack, namely Sancho taken from Dortmund.
We close with Tottenham who, in addition to Gollini on loan from Atalanta, got their hands on the Spanish Bryan Gil of Sevilla.
